I’m 5’10 and like 203 pounds. And I would like to weight at least 150-160 by June 23. Basically I’m sick of people making fun of me. And I’m sick of being overweight. Keep in mind I’m a picky eater. So dieting is kind of hard for me. (And no meat i am vegetarian) so please help me

The good news is that you are vegetarian, and vegetables are low in calories! The bad news is you have to cut back on your calories to lose weight. You will also have to exercise, min. 30 minutes a day of something that keeps your heart rate elevated. Any time you burn more calories than you have consumed, you start to lose weight.

Use a calorie counter like the one at to find out how much you should be eating. It will also help you get the right nutrition even though you will be cutting back. It also has an activity counter so you can really see how your food and activity choices are affecting you.

Elliptical machines can work wooooonders. I lost like 15lbs by using one about 30mins everyday.

Losing the weight fast isn’t a good idea, the optimum amount to lose to keep it off would be around 1-2lb a week.

As a vegetarian you have plenty of healthy choices availble. It all depends on what you prefer.

Here’s a couple of link I found that may be of use to you to help you choose other foods in the vegetarian range as well.

You need to burn more calories than you take in to lose the weight so is it possible for you to join a gym?

If not, hire out an exercise DVD and work out with that on a daily basis for around half an hour.

Walking is a great way to lose weight, half an hour a day is good.

Okay forget the diet just for right now – I am sure you have enough sense to know that cookies, cake, soda, juice, rice, potatoes, etc will make you fat… So just stick to the salads without dressing.

Next do cardio, cardio – do high intensity interval training for thirty minutes a day. If you can run in the morning and evening even better. Then add resistance training – put on muscle as muscle burns fat. Don’t eat within three hours before going to bed.

Don’t eat processed carbohydrates after five pm. Processed carbs – are carbohydrates that you wouldn’t find growing in the ground. They are the ones that come in packages like bread, cookies, tortilla etc.

You should be fine by June 23

if you have a trampoline or know someone that does, that REALLY helps. i have bounced every day the past few weeks and when i went to put on jeans this mornin, they were too big.

I don’t recommend pills or dieting. excercise is the best you can do,, and drink plenty of water.

Weight loss is an overall process. You need to think about many factors. There are many sensible things you can do that will make a tremendous difference over the long term if you need to lose weight. It can be done in a healthy way. This is what has worked for me.

Keeping a food journal really does help. It will give you a much better sense of how much you are eating, and when, and why.

Make a few additional small changes – walk everywhere, always use stairs instead of elevators, walk on escalators, get up and move around at least once an hour if your work or your life in general is sedentary, walk every day, use a pedometer. Walking 10,000 steps a day is a really good idea. Build up to a long brisk walk everyday, or most days. Be more active and watch less TV and spend less time on the computer. Buy one piece of exercise equipment to have at home and be strict with yourself about using it. Sometimes you can find mini-steppers or exercise bikes at second hand stores and thrift stores for just a few dollars.

Start a weight lifting routine. Join a gym. Possibly you can find one that has someone who specializes in weight lifting programs for beginners. Weight lifting will increase your metabolism as well as improve posture and appearance overall. Even if you can’t get to the gym you can work out at home using things around the house. Invest in a good weight training book. The Dummies series actually has a good one.

In terms of diet, cut out or reduce things like junk food, pop, fat, fast food. Eat more fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean meat, fish. Particularly if you choose a vegetarian lifestyle include natural peanut butter, hummus, dried fruit and nuts. Pay close attention to getting the nutrients your body needs to be healthy.

Make your portion sizes smaller. Use a smaller plate – in our society we have become accustomed to thinking that we need a large plate of food at every meal, and we don’t. About quarter of your plate of food should be protein and at least half of it should be veggies.

Learn to count calories. At your current weight and activity level, you may possibly need about 2000 calories or more to maintain your current weight. So you will lose weight at a reasonable and healthy rate if you cut back to about 1600 or 1700 calories a day.

Eat small amounts frequently, rather than three large meals. Never skip breakfast. Include some protein in your breakfast. It will help get you through the day.

Drink plenty of water, at least 8 big glasses of water a day, and more if it is very hot, if you sweat a lot, or if you are exercising intensely, and eliminate fruit juices. Fruit juices have too many calories, so get your vitamins from fresh fruit, not the juice. You will begin to see changes in your body.

An area that many people overlook is getting enough sleep. You are much more likely to overeat or to binge eat if you are tired and not well rested, so get enough sleep.

Check out websites about nutrition, exercise, weight training, etc. Here are a few helpful links.

Everyone has a problem spot. It can be around the stomach, thighs, arms or chest. No matter where your trouble spot is, the solution is exactly the same. You need to eat less and exercise more. The reason why there’s only one solution for all of these problems is because it’s impossible to tell your body where to burn the excess fat from.

When you eat too many calories, your body stores the excess energy as fat in different areas around the body. To lose this fat, you need to create a calorie deficit (eat less than you burn) to force your body to start burning that fat for energy. There is absolutely no way to control where your body goes to find this extra fat.

The larger your calorie deficit (a bigger calorie deficit means a bigger difference between what you eat and what you burn) the faster your body will burn excess fat and the quicker your body fat percentage will start to decrease. You can increase your calorie deficit by cutting your daily intake and exercising more. Sit ups will do nothing to target the fat around your abs just like squats will do nothing to target the fat around your thighs. You can read more about fixing your trouble spots at the Guide to Reducing Body Fat -

Drink LOADS of water, and cut back on the sweet foods, but don’t completely eliminate them.

You will have to exercise, and regularly, so that you can lose the weight you want to.The weight will not come of because you’re wishing it would, YOU have to change yourself!

To lose weight you must count your Calorie intake
Your calorie intake must be less than the total burned calories.
For vegetarians it’s easier to do that.

This is the reason you're probably seeing one or two products on the current market saying that their foods are ‘Trans Fat Free’.
